Former Head of Maths | GCSE & A-Level Maths Tutor | Online & In-Person I've spent 15 years teaching maths in schools, with several of those years as Head of Maths. My focus is always on building genuine understanding first — once that clicks, the exam technique follows much more easily. These days I work one-to-one with KS3, GCSE, and A-Level students who want to properly get to grips with the material, not just scrape through. Once the concepts are solid, we work on exam technique: past papers, mark schemes, and working out what examiners are actually looking for. Most students come to me feeling like maths just doesn't make sense. That usually changes. What I teach: KS3 Maths (Years 7-9) GCSE Maths (Foundation and Higher) A-Level Maths About me: 15 years in schools, including as Head of Maths. I've seen every misconception going. Understanding comes first, then exam technique: past papers, mark schemes, grade boundaries. Online and in-person sessions available. I keep numbers small so each student gets proper attention. Drop me a message if you think I might be a good fit. We can have a quick chat before you commit to anything.
